Phase 1 near completion for AvertIT project

As a member of the EU funded research consortium Avert-IT since late 2007, C3 Global has been working with some of Europe's leading university hospitals in helping clinicians recognise patterns and anticipate downstream episodes of hypotension among critically ill patients.

Drawing on our techniques such as alarm monitoring, trending, visualisation and calculations developed through our other asset-based industries, C3 global will help collect, interpret and distribute data from multiple centers direct to the users involved, equipping them with the tools for interpretation and analysis. This will lead to more effective decisions being made based on real time data, which will potentially save lives.

C3 global have also been working with the universities to develop Bayesian Artificial Neural Network (BANN) software tools. The BANN software accesses levels of detail that is often unreachable, and uses techniques for data analysis, asset performance management, and environmental monitoring and control. By the end of the second year the BANN has been built, tested, and will be connected to hospitals across Europe. A further clinical trial has been planned and will commence during the summer of 2010.

C3 global is pleased to be playing a critical role in helping clinicians anticipate upcoming episodes, preparing for intervention as soon as the need is confirmed, where patients are safer, outcomes are much improved and total care costs could result in a reduction of €5 billion across the EU annually. The 3-year Avert-IT project brings together C3's expertise in transforming device level data and the Universities expertise in patient care, enabling the drive for evidence based medicine through monitoring, trending and analysis.
