Extension of National Grid Condition Monitoring Web Services

After an initial trial to establish the feasibility of installing remote monitoring devices at National Grid substations, for the collection and the displaying of data from Hydran gas monitoring systems, C3 global are proud to announce the strengthening of our working relationship with the National Grid with the progression to a roll out across England and Wales of an online condition monitoring web service This service is called ‘SAM’ – Smart Asset Management.

The system will monitor substations all over England and Wales, checking the condition of critical assets including circuit breakers and transformers, all from one online facility, providing the National Grid with one view of their whole operation. With the system in place, they will be able to monitor all assets and prevent potential downtime by locating problems before they happen; crucial when demand for electricity by the consumer is continually rising.

Dedicated to being the world’s premier network utility, the National Grid’s core skills lie primarily in the management of large and complex energy delivery networks. They own, operate and develop the high-voltage electricity transmission network in England and Wales and Great Britain's principal natural gas transportation system.

C3 global have been working with the National Grid for several years now, applying corrosion and risk modelling solutions for their assets. This will continue to give them the knowledge and information needed to reduce risk and improve the performance and life cycle of their assets, so they can continue to develop their high-voltage transmission network in order to maintain safe, secure and reliable electricity supplies across England and Wales.
